1)
All burning must be accomplished during daylight hours.
2)
No burning is permitted within 50’ of any structure (any
house, carport, shed, etc.)
3)
A competent person must constantly attend the fire, and
that person must have sufficient means to extinguish the fire (such as
a connected garden hose, extended near the fire).
4)
Public Safety personnel may require the attendee to
extinguish the fire immediately if weather conditions change or if the smoke
proves to be a nuisance to neighbors.
5)
Only yard debris may be burned
(i.e. tree limbs, leaves, grass, straw). Burning
of tires, wire, household trash, treated lumber or any other material is
strictly prohibited and may result in criminal prosecution.
Most
of all, Be Safe and Be Courteous. Pick
days, times and weather conditions that reduce the chance of fire spread and
reduce the amount of smoke held close to the ground.
