What is Exploring?
Law Enforcement Exploring is a division of the Boy
Scouts of America for both male and female aged
from 14 years old to 20 who are interested in a career in Law Enforcement.
- Weekly meetings/ training sessions are held
every Thursday night at the Freeman Hill Sub-Station from 7:30pm to 9:00pm.
- Explorers receive specialized training in all
aspects of Law Enforcement, including arrest procedures, traffic
stops,
crime scene investigations, firearm training, emergency preparedness,
building searches, fingerprinting, first aid, report writing and radio
training.
- The South Carolina Association of Law
Enforcement Explorers hosts a yearly competition which is held each
summer. Explorers from around the state compete in Scenarios which tests
their law enforcement training and knowledge.
- Explorers participate on community events and
Police Department functions, including ride-a longs with officers from the
Department.

Mission
StatementThe
mission of Cayce's Police Department Explorer Post is to Provide a strong
Community Based Policing Program for the youth of the City of Cayce. This
is to be accomplished by providing youth with law enforcement training,
encouraging personal fitness, and by providing social and outdoor recreational
activities.
