Cayce Public Safety Nabs Convenience Store robbers

The Cayce Department of Public Safety has arrested three men after a robbery occurred at the Lil Cricket Convenience Store at 1101 State Street in Cayce.

One of the men entered the store and assaulted the clerk forcing her to open the cash register and stole and undisclosed amount of money from the till. The man then exited the store and fled on foot.

Sgt. Mike Adams, a 37 year veteran of Cayce Public Safety, was on duty patrolling the RiverWalk Park in Cayce and responded to the call in his electric patrol car. The electric car is manufactured by Global Electric Motors and is a recent addition to the department’s fleet and seems to be paying for it’s self already.

Sgt. Adams spotted the robber as he was walking through a yard in the 1300 block of Honeysuckle Drive .  The sergeant observed a Blue Chevrolet Caprice, driven by the other suspects, stop and retrieve the robber before attempting to depart the area. Sgt. Adams motioned for the vehicle to pull over without the aid of an emergency light or siren. The driver complied and with the assistance of other Cayce officers the suspects were taken into custody.
